Software Update v1.16

The options for top navigation in SimPlayer has been updated to include a new option: “Top (slide-down page view)” in the navigation configuration menu. This dropdown allows authors to select different navigation styles for learners, including the new slide-down option. The original Top and Left navigation modes are still available as well.

To enhance screen reader accessibility, only the label of the gauge is highlighted and announced, rather than the entire gauge, which some screen readers previously identified as a d3 image. Now, the current score is announced along with the minimum and maximum possible scores.

Screen reader functionality has been enhanced to announce the file type along with the file name.

Screen readers will no longer read alt text for decorative images if the alt text is left blank by author in the editor. Following this process ensures that decorative images are not focusable, and screen readers will skip them during navigation.

Studio now includes an icon that shows whether an activity template meets WCAG accessibility standards, making it easy for authors to identify WCAG-compliant activity templates at a glance.
