Overview: Video Response Activity
Updated over a week ago

The Video Response activity prompts participants with a video and then challenges them to respond. Typically, an “artificial intelligence” (AI) avatar or pre-recorded video starts the interaction with a scenario or question.

The participant selects their response from pre-written responses, then a new video appears based on the previously selected choice. This video branching exchange goes on until the desired objective or information has been conveyed.

DESIGN USAGE

Helping the participant develop a consultative mindset — that is, how to ask questions to uncover a need or issue.

Teaching the participant how to de-escalate a situation — for example, with a frustrated client, customer, or boss.

Explaining product features or how something works — for example, through the conversation, a participant could learn the features of a product or understand how something works like digital trends (AI, Blockchain, robotics, cloud computing, etc.)

Helping a participant practice or demonstrate empathy — For example, when leading a team or coaching or mentoring a colleague

CONTENT + WORD COUNT

  • Activity title (maximum of ~7-10 words)

  • Activity description (maximum of ~25-30 words)

  • Videos duration (up to ~2 min)

  • Video messages & responses (maximum ~50 words)

    • Any block of text over 50 words can become difficult to display in the activity and for the participant to digest.

PRO TIPS 💡

  • Keep the number of videos and responses concise – too many choices can be confusing.

  • Video Response has robust branching capabilities and sentiment indicators to optimize the experience. It is recommended to start with the end in mind and then think through the fewest steps to get there. The authoring tool makes it easy to string your video and response choices together.
