How to: Share ReX Projects with Your Team
Updated over a week ago

Share your projects in ReX!

Collaborate with your team, show examples of your work, and receive feedback.

Share your read-only projects in a few ways:

  • Share a project via your My Projects page to any existing ReX user

    • For general sharing purposes in ReX - Use the "share" feature to share your projects with any existing ReX user.

  • Share a NEW project within "Organizations" to select users

    • For privacy or organization purposes - Use "Organization" groups to share your projects with a select group of users of your choosing.

Share a project via your My Projects page

In ReX, share a project within your "My Projects" to other ReX users.

  • A ReX project can only be shared with existing ReX users

  • A ReX project will be shared as “read-only” and needs to be duplicated in order to be edited by other users.

DIY Steps

Complete the following steps to share a project in ReX:

Find the project you’d like to share and hover over it, then click on the three ellipses in the top right.

Click on Share.

Write the email address of the ReX users you’d like to share your project with, and then select share.

You will receive a confirmation on the bottom of the screen that your project has been successfully shared:

Shared projects will appear in a user's Shared with Me folder.

Share a NEW project within "Organizations"

Use "Organization" groups to share your projects with a select group of users of your choosing.

  • All users invited to an organization will have access to the projects that are created within that specific organization.

DIY Steps

Step 1: Create an organization

This allows you to create an organization (group), and share read-only projects created within that organization with others.

  1. Click on your name in the top right corner, and then click on organization.

  2. Create and join an Organization by typing in a name for your Organization (group) and click "Add".

  3. Manage your Organizations (groups) on this same page.

    1. You can have multiple Organizations/Groups to help organize who you are sharing your projects with.

⚠️IMPORTANT!

  • You must create a new project within your "organization" to make it accessible by others you invite to the organization.

  • All users invited to an organization will have access to the projects that are created within that specific organization.

  • All projects within the organization are read-only (not editable) by all invited users - but others can duplicate the project if they want to make edits.

  • Projects created in other "Organizations" or "My Projects" cannot be moved to another "Organization" and vice versa.

Step 2: Invite others to your Organization

This allows you to share projects by inviting someone to your organization. All users within an organization will have read-only access to the projects that are created within this specific organization.

  • NOTE: The person invited needs to have a ReX-verified email domain

  1. First, make sure you have already created the organization (see step 1 above)

  2. Then, click the share icon in the top navigation on the homepage

  3. In the drop-down, select your organization and add the user's email address that you’d like to invite into your organization

User must have a ReX verified email address.

  4. The invitee will see an “Invitations to Organization” in their organizations.

    1. The invitee will need to refresh their ReX browser if they already have it opened in order to see the invite.

  5. The invitee will need to click on the blue checkmark to accept the invitation or click the red decline which will remove the invitation and they will not have access to the shared org.

  6. The Organization will then appear under the Manage Organization Section.

Step 3: Create a NEW project within the Organization

This allows you to create a new project within your "organization" accessible by those you have invited to the organization.

  1. In the left-hand navigation pane, click on the name of the organization that you want to create a new project inside of.

  2. Choose the New Project Type: "Simulation"

    1. The other options are examples of templated project types that are "coming soon"!

  1. Name your project in the bottom left box.

  2. Click "Create Project"

  3. Your newly created project automatically opens!

Important things to note when sharing via Organizations:

These are worth repeating!

  • The person invited needs to have a ReX-verified email domain

  • The person invited to the organization will have access to ALL projects created in the organization

  • Projects that are shared within the organization are read-only (not editable) but can be duplicated by others to become editable

  • Projects created in other "Organizations" or "My Projects" cannot move to another "Organization" and vice versa
