Overview: Portal Home Page | Launch Projects Here!

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Your starting point for smarter, faster project creation.

The redesigned Portal Home page connects your entire workflow—from Smart Template selection and content drafting in ReX to development in Studio—so you can launch engaging, high quality projects quickly.

🚀 Start where strategy, design, and development align!

Why the Home Page Matters

Set yourself up for success by starting where everything connects—so you can build faster, smarter, and more strategically.

Creating your projects from the Portal Home page gives you a clear advantage. Here’s how:

  • Smart Template, Smarter Start - Projects created from the Home page are automatically linked to a ReX Smart Template—packed with 20+ years of Regis design expertise, targeted AI prompting, and a built-in learner experience flow. Even new users can quickly prototype and get stakeholder feedback.

  • One Connected Launch Point - Instead of jumping between tools, you start in one place and move seamlessly from Discovery & Design to Development (ReX → Studio). No missed steps—just a streamlined, end-to-end workflow.

  • Organized by Design - All projects launched from the Home page are saved in “My Projects” and shown on your dashboard—making them easy to find and manage.

Getting Started

The redesigned Portal Home page streamlines project creation and management while enhancing your Discovery & Design experience.

To get the full benefits—like integrated ReX-to-Studio connections—we recommend starting all new ReX projects from the Portal Home page.

Accessing the Home Page

  • New users will see the new home page by default at first sign-in.

  • To opt out, uncheck "Make my main view" in the bottom-right corner. (This is the view once you have active projects created!)

  • To return to the Home page anytime, in the projects view, just click Home in the left navigation.

Creating your First Project

If you have never created a project before, you will first see a screen that says “Design your first project.”

To get started, you should:

  1. Select a Smart Template from the available options in the menu.

  2. Follow the guided steps below to create your new project.

Navigating the Home Page

  1. Create a New Project

    • Click the blue “+” icon at the bottom of the screen.

    • Select the project type you want, then click “Use this template”

    • Note: All projects that you created on this page are saved in your "My Projects" folder.

    • Note: Not all projects shown on the home page are yours—these include any projects created from the home page and auto-generated by ReX across all users in your enterprise.

  2. Rename Your Project

    • The selected template will appear at the top of the screen.

    • To rename the project and change the image, click the pencil icon in the top right corner. Then click the checkmark to save.

  3. Begin Authoring

    • Click the “Discovery + Design” button to open your project in ReX and begin adding content.

  4. Begin Developing

    • After completing the Discovery & Design phase, click the Develop button to start or continue building your project in Studio.

      • Note: You can only use Develop if your project is complete in ReX, linked to Studio, and successfully imported. Once that’s done, clicking Develop will take you into Studio to continue your work.

  5. Manage your Projects

    • To manage your projects, click the "All Projects" button—this will take you to the portal where you can create folders and share projects.

🚀 Deploying Projects

Don't forget! Before deployment, make sure to move your project from My Projects to the Enterprise folder to ensure proper visibility and access via the Dashboard.

FAQ - General

Why isn’t my project showing up on the Home page?

  • Only projects created from the Home page (by starting with a ReX Smart Template) will appear on the Home dashboard.

  • Projects created directly in ReX or Studio won’t appear on the Home dashboard—they’ll be in your "My Projects" or "Enterprise" folder instead.

  • Existing or legacy projects are visible by clicking “All Projects.”

How do I start a project from scratch in Studio (and skip ReX)?

  • If you’d prefer to build a custom experience from the ground up, you can create a blank project directly in Studio—no ReX Smart Template required.

    • This is a great option if you want full control over the HLD and learner journey rather than starting with a pre-built template.

  • Here’s how:

    • Go to the Enterprise view in Portal.

      • Click “ New Project.”

  • This will open a blank Studio project that is not connected to ReX.

    • It will not appear on the new HOME page.

    • To launch a ReX-connected project, you must create it from the HOME page.

  • Want to use ReX later?
You can still import a ReX Smart Template into any Studio project by clicking the ReX icon in the top navigation of Studio.

How do I duplicate my projects?

⚠️ Projects created via the new home page portal cannot be duplicated directly.

  • To duplicate a project:

    1. Locate the original project in ReX

    2. Duplicate it

    3. Link it to a new Studio project

  • Note! That duplicated project won’t appear in the Studio Portal for the recipient unless they link it to Studio themselves via ReX export.

    • However, once done, it becomes your own project—it will not be shared in Studio with the original creator or others until the recipient user does so.

How do I share my projects?

  • When you share a project from the Portal home page, the recipient will receive editing access in ReX.

  • To share a project, you must share from the My Projects folder in Portal.

  • What happens after sharing?

    • The shared user will see the project on their Portal homepage.

    • The project will not appear in their ReX projects (on ReX) until they click "Discovery & Design" from the Portal homepage. After that, it will show up in their ReX projects.

    • A shared icon will appear on the project tile, indicating the project was shared with them.

    • To open and view the project in ReX, the user must click "Discovery & Design" from the Portal homepage.

    • In ReX, the project will be available to edit for the shared user; however, only one user can edit a ReX project at a time.

    • If another user is currently editing a ReX project, an indicator will appear on the tile to show that the project is in use.

    • While the ReX project is being edited, shared users will have read-only access and won’t be able to make changes. The message includes the name of the person editing it.

    • Once the project is imported into Studio, both the original owner and shared users can edit it simultaneously (in Studio).

      • The shared project will also appear in their Shared Projects folder, but to access it in ReX, they should always use the Portal homepage.

What if my organization does not have access to ReX or AI features?

Portal Access for Enterprises with ReX + AI Disabled

  • If your enterprise has turned off ReX AI, you’ll see a blank homepage the first time you log in. Once you click Projects in the left navigation, that view will become your default and appear each time you log in going forward.

  • In addition, the Discovery + Design phase progress tracker will not appear or be accessible anywhere within Studio.

FAQ - Existing Users (Prior to Aug 15, 2025)

I’m an existing user—why don’t I see the new home page?

  • Existing users may land on the project view when they login:

  • To access the new home page:

    1. From your Enterprise or Project view, click the Home button in the left-hand navigation.

    2. The new home page will appear.

    3. To make this your default landing page, click “Make my main view.”

You can always return to your project view by selecting “All Projects” from the home page.

How do I find projects created before August 15, 2025?

  • You can access and keep working on any existing projects without disruption.

  • To find them:

    • Go to My Projects or the appropriate Enterprise folder—depending on where you saved them.

    • select “All Projects” from the new Home page menu (bottom left corner).

Will my bookmarked links to access Studio, Portal, or ReX still work?

  • Yes! Bookmarks for Studio, Portal, and ReX will continue to work as expected.

    • e.g. If you use a Portal bookmark, it will take you to the Portal homepage.

  • Items to NOTE when accessing Studio, Portal, or ReX via Bookmarked URLs:

    • Users who previously opted out of the home page will not see the new version unless they opt back in (click “Make my main view.”).

    • If a user hasn't opted out, they will see the updated home page automatically when logging into Portal.

    • When you log into ReX, you'll see the usual ReX landing page.

    • If you create a new project directly within ReX, it will not appear on the new Portal home page.

    • Only projects created from the new Portal home page will be connected to ReX and visible in the new Portal view. Because of this, we recommend creating all new ReX projects via the new Portal home page.
