Module 4 Purpose

Onboarding Module 4 provides new Creators a guided exploration through advanced features that create personalized learning in SimGate Studio.

This document provides instructions for the first part of Module 4, where you will review a sample experiential learning project to discover many of the ways you can personalize learning to level up engagement, retention, and real-world application.

SimGate Studio Advanced: Leveling Up with Branching, Personalization, + AI

In Part 1 of this Seek and Find adventure, you will:

Preview a fully built, 3-round, scenario-based industry sim to get a taste of a personalized, asynchronous learning experience.
Journey through the sim using the collaborative reviewer feature to look for evidence of advanced features that contribute to greater personalization, adaptive learning, and engagement.

Seek and Find Activity

Step 1: Find and DUPLICATE your Sample Project

Log in:

In a Chrome or Edge browser, use your Login and PW to access SimGate PORTAL via your unique enterprise URL.
- Once logged in, follow the below steps to duplicate the Module 4 project that you will use to complete parts 1 and 2 of the module.

⚠️ Friendly Warning!

Please DO NOT skip the duplication step and use the original project in your enterprise Onboarding folder to complete this module! That is the master copy that all onboarding participants need to use. If you make any changes to it, it will change the master version and could impact your colleagues's ability to successfully complete the module.

Duplicate the Module 4 Project:

Choose the All Projects button on your home page
Open the folder named: Module 4: SimGate Studio Advanced: Leveling Up with Branching,Personalization, + AI
Find the project named: SAMPLE PROJECT_Onboarding Module 4_ MUST DUPLICATE BEFORE USING!!

Duplicate the project into your personal “My Projects” folder
Rename it. To avoid confusion, always rename duplicated projects immediately!
Open your project in Studio.

Step 2: Generate a Reviewer Link

⚠️ BEFORE MOVING ON!! Please make sure you are now in your newly created duplication project that is located in your personal "my projects" folder!!

First, go here: Overview: Review & Comment Feature to learn about the “reviewer feature”, how it works, and its ability to increase efficiency and collaboration.
Access your project's shareable Review/Comment link via the "Share" icon in Studio's upper right navigation tray.
Click on "Create and copy link" - you now have a shareable link to use for your Seek and Find adventure!

Step 3: 'Seek and Find' Evidence of Personalization

Your Role:

Step into the shoes of a reviewing collaborator to tour the Not-For-Profit Industry Simulation!

Your Goal:

Explore the 3-Round course from a "reviewer" point-of-view, looking for evidence of where the designer incorporated personalized features to enhance learning and engagement.

How To:

In a new Chrome or Edge browser window, open the personal “Reviewer Link” you just generated.
1. Note: You are done with both Portal and Studio at this point so you can close both tabs and just focus on the "reviewer link" window.
Navigate through Round 1 and look for evidence of the key items listed below - try to find at least one example of each one! (Most have multiple examples!)
Leave a short COMMENT on the page(s) where you think these features are present (sometimes they are not obvious to a learner!)
BONUS: Get a taste of the full learning experience!
- This NFP course is a great example of what an immersive and highly personalized, asynchronous (individual), scenario-based course can look like!
- Using the navigation dropdowns - poke through rounds two and three to see what else you find! No need to complete the sim activities unless you want to.
