SimGate Studio Basics: Getting Started with Development

Jumpstart your knowledge with a feature-focused "Scavenger Hunt" to familiarize yourself with Stuido's functionality, navigation, and features.

The Evolution of Corporate Training

Expected Time to Complete: Approximately 30-60mins*

*Time investment will vary based on your level of engagement with the provided resources (supplemental videos, examples, and help articles) and self-discovery exploring, and experimenting with the tool.

Purpose

Join a fun scavenger hunt designed to help new Creators quickly learn to navigate and use two of the three SimGate platform tools - Portal and Studio. This engaging activity provides a structured and interactive way to kick-start your understanding of these essential no code authoring tools.

Scavenger Hunt

On this Scavenger Hunt, you will:

  • Explore a sample sim and discover how it's constructed in the authoring tool.

  • Learn the basic functionality available to build experiential learning.

  • Experiment with AI-integrated features and functionality.

  • Preview links to additional resources in our Help Center.

🤩 This "Getting Started" process is modeled after one of the segments in our Creator Onboarding Journey (Module 3). While we always encourage new users to participate in our guided onboarding program for comprehensive knowledge of the SimGate platform, this segment is perfect for those who prefer to get started independently!

Step 1: Access your Project

Login to SimGate Portal

In a Chrome or Edge browser, use your Login and PW to access SimGate PORTAL via your unique enterprise URL.

Once logged in to SimGate Portal, follow the below steps to access your personal project for this activity.

💡 Want a quick Portal overview? Check this out:

Find your Project Folders

> Enterprise Projects Folder (All access for all team members)

Your personalized Getting Started with Development (Module 3) project is located in your Enterprise folder in the left navigation panel.

  • For Cohort Onboarding groups, your Enterprise Folder is called "Creator", otherwise, it will have your organization's name next to the building icon!

💡 NOTE: If your view looks like this, you are on the Portal Home Page! Choose the "All Projects" button on the bottom right to access your Project Folders.

Find your Personal Project

In your Enterprise folder, find and open the Folder named: GETTING STARTED!

Note: Your personalized project is located in your Enterprise folder (left navigation pane) within the sub-folder: GETTING STARTED!

> Enterprise projects (All access for all team members)

> Sub-Folder: GETTING STARTED!

> Find your personalized project - it has YOUR NAME on it!

Find the project that has your NAME on it and click on the PICTURE to open your project details which look like this:

Open your Project in Studio

Find the Quick Links menu on the right, and click Studio. This opens your personal project in a new window in SimGate STUDIO!
