Get Started: SimGate Portal Basics

SimGate Portal Basics provides a foundation for navigating and using the portal. It covers everything you need to get started quickly and confidently


Logging into SimGate

Open a Chrome browser

  • Login + Password:

    • Your enterprise URL: Ex. "yourcompanyname.regis-co.com/portal/"

    • Your Personal Login: Your work email address

    • Your Password


Projects and Folders

On your Portal HOME screen, you can:

  • Create a new Smart Template project, or

  • Open an existing Smart Template project you already started, or

  • Navigate to all other existing projects via the on the bottom left of the screen, All Projects


Portal Home Page

To learn more about the Portal Home Page, click here!

  • New users will see the new home page by default at first sign-in.


  • To opt out, uncheck "Make my main view" in the bottom-right corner. (This is the view once you have active projects created!)


  • To return to the Home page anytime, in the projects view, just click Home in the left navigation.

In the ALL PROJECTS view (above), use the left-hand navigation to find your projects and folders…

  1. Enterprise projects (All access for all team members)

  2. My Projects (Private personal folder)

  3. Starred projects (Your favorites)

  4. Recent projects

  5. Shared with me projects (Other's private projects directly shared with you)

  6. Archived Projects (Project no longer in use - can be un-archived)

You can also create folders by clicking on the top right “Create folder” icon


Start a New Project

If you have never created a project before, you will first see a screen that says “Design your first project.”

To get started, you should:

  1. Select a Smart Template from the available options in the menu.

  2. Follow the guided steps below to create your new project.

OR

If you’d prefer to build a custom experience from the ground up, you can create a blank project directly in Studio—no ReX Smart Template required.

This is a great option if you want full control over the HLD and learner journey rather than starting with a pre-built template.

Select New Project from the top navigation of the Home Screen:


Edit an Existing Project's Name and Description, Upload a Project Image, or Archive the Project

  • If you're on the Portal Home Page, Select All Projects at the bottom left corner of the screen to view your projects.

  • Search for the project you want to edit

  • Click on the Image of the project.

Avoid clicking the project name, as it will open in Studio and the following steps will no longer match your webpage view

  • Select the Edit Pencil Icon in the upper right

  • Edit the Project Name, Project Description, Upload a Project Image, or Archive the Project


Move, Share, or Duplicate

  • For any project, you can click the 3 dots to view a number of options such as:

    1. Edit in studio

    2. View and edit details

    3. Duplicate

    4. Move

    5. Archive

Move your project between Folders

Click the 3 dots in the upper right of your project and choose MOVE.

A pop-up will prompt you to move it to the folder of your choice - You can choose your enterprise folder or other folders that you have set up. To set up a new folder - choose the folder icon with a + on it!

Share your private "My Projects" with a colleague

Click the 3 dots in the upper right of your project and choose SHARE.

A pop-up will prompt you to Invite another user - they must be users already set up in the SimGate platform. In the bar, search for their name or email, when it pops up, choose them.

All Collaborators that have access to a project will also be listed below.

PROJECT QUICK LINKS

Access Quick Links to Open Projects in Studio

To access SimGate Studio to author a project, select the Project from the All Projects screen and select Studio under Quick Links.

  • NOTE: You can also open the project directly from the All-Projects screen by clicking on the project picture and that will launch the project in Studio in a new window.

Access Quick Links Preview

The Preview option provides the author visibility to the Learner Simulation Experience.

The quickly preview a simulation experience for a given project, select the Project from the All Project screen and select Preview under Quick Links.

Access Quick Links Releases

Releases are displayed in SimGate Studio and provide the user access to a project's history, including the most current release and which release is live in Production.

To quickly access the releases for a given project, select the Project from the All Project screen and select Releases under Quick Links

Access Quick Links Users

The user display represents the number of users who have access to the simulation once it is published and live in production.

To quickly access users who have access to a given project, select the Project from the All Project screen and select Users under Quick Links. You will be granted access to SimGate Dashboard, and a list of users will be displayed.

Access Quick Links Sessions

The Session display represents the number of Sessions lives in production for a given project.

To quickly access sessions for a given project, select the Project from the All Project screen and select Sessions under Quick Links. You will be granted access to SimGate Dashboard, and a list of Sessions will be displayed.


Archive a Project

Please note that when a project is Archived…

  • The project will not be editable in Studio and will no longer appear in Portal searches.

  • All Dashboard sessions using this project will be automatically archived, and participants and teams cannot access those sessions.

  • All Dashboard sessions and data will be restored to their current state if the project is unarchived.

Archiving a project:

  • If you're on the Portal Home Page, Select All Projects at the bottom left corner of the screen to view your projects.

  • Select the name of the project you want to Archive

  • Select the Edit Icon

  • Select Archive Project

  • Confirm you want to Archive your Project

Access Archived Projects

  • If you're on the Portal Home Page, Select All Projects at the bottom left corner of the screen to view your projects.

  • Select Archived Projects


FAQ - Existing Users (Prior to Aug 15, 2025)


I’m an existing user—why don’t I see the new home page?

  • Existing users may land on the project view when they login:

  • To access the new home page:

    1. From your Enterprise or Project view, click the Home button in the left-hand navigation.

    2. The new home page will appear.

    3. To make this your default landing page, click “Make my main view.”


    You can always return to your project view by selecting “All Projects” from the home page.

How do I find projects created before August 15, 2025?

  • You can access and keep working on any existing projects without disruption.

  • To find them:

    • Go to My Projects or the appropriate Enterprise folder—depending on where you saved them.

    • select “All Projects” from the new Home page menu (bottom left corner).
