Quickly turn your ReX content and activities into ready-built pages in Studio—no copy-paste, just a few clicks!
Easily export your ReX content and activities directly into Studio. Depending on how you created your project, there are currently a few options to export your content into Studio to begin development!
⚠️ NOTE! Before you can successfully export ReX content - you MUST run all the steps to generate and validate the content for EACH of your chosen activities and pages. (e.g. welcome, intro, scenario, list builder etc).
DIY STEPS
ReX Smart Templates Created from the Home Page
If you created your ReX project from the home page, it’s automatically linked to Studio.
After completing all of the prerequisites and activities in ReX:
A confirmation modal will appear.
Click "Export to SimGate Studio" and your project will automatically open in Studio Preview Mode.
You can Preview your project from here OR close out of preview mode and begin to further develop your course in Studio.
Top navigation (Discovery, Develop, etc.) in ReX and Studio will be visible to easily navigate between tools based on your project phase.
🚨 ALERT! Because of how the Homepage functions and the auto-linked nature of projects created this way, you cannot duplicate the Studio project after it has been exported (and further development updates have been made/completed). You can only duplicate the ReX-generated content within ReX.
➡️ If you anticipate needing to duplicate the final project for future reuse, updates, translations, backups, or testing, we recommend creating your project directly in the ReX tool instead and "unlinking" your project to Studio during the export (instructions below).
Future State: ReX 2 (Coming 2026)
In the upcoming version of ReX:
There will be a single, unified project portal—ReX projects and Studio projects will no longer exist separately.
Project management actions, like sharing, duplicating, and updates, will all be handled within this unified experience.
ReX Projects Created Directly in ReX
When you create a project directly in ReX, you have two options for connecting it to Studio: Auto-link or Import/Export (legacy process). Each approach has benefits and tradeoffs, so it’s helpful to understand them before choosing.

Auto-link to Studio Project
After completing all of the prerequisites and activities in ReX:
A confirmation modal will appear.
A checkbox labeled “Auto-link to Studio project” will be selected by default.
If you leave this box checked and click “Develop in SimGate Studio", your project will automatically open in Studio Preview Mode.
You can Preview your project from here OR close out of preview mode and begin to further develop your course in Studio!
Remember: If you choose to auto-link, you cannot duplicate the Studio project after it's been exported (and further development updates have been made/completed).
Import/ Export to Studio
If You Uncheck “Auto-link to Studio”, you’ll be prompted to enter a release name before exporting.
Then, follow the legacy workflow:
Go to Studio and open a new project.
Click the ReX icon in the top navigation.
Locate your project and import it.
From the dropdown menu, select the project you just exported.
Authors can also
Use the second filter available to narrow results by release.
View the Release notes that are now visible for each project and release, so they can see what's included.
If a page already exists in your Studio project, an arrow icon will appear. This indicates that the page will be updated with the latest content from ReX.
Your ReX project will load in the panel below the drop down.
You can choose to update the entire flow and all pages or just individual pages.
To proceed, check the box confirming that you understand this action will overwrite the current flow, and then click the Import button.
After the import is complete, click the View Flow button to see your project within Studio.
FAQ
In Studio, which release versions will show up in the dropdown?
The import dropdown list will fill with every project you have exported from ReX, but it will only show the latest release for each project.
Why didn't my export show up as an option in the dropdown in Studio?
This could happen for a few reasons:
You must be logged in to ReX via your NEW ReX enterprise login link which looks something like this: https://XXX.regis-co.com/rex .... IF you logged into ReX via the old link and authentication process, (https://rex.regis-co.com) you will not be able to export from ReX to Studio.
Do you have access to multiple enterprises? If so, you might have logged in to a different enterprise, in which case your export will be associated with the same enterprise in Studio in which you originally logged into.
No worries if this happens - you can open the export into a new project in one enterprise in Studio and then duplicate it to the other enterprise.
What if I want to make edits to my ReX project after I export to Studio?
Update your linked Studio Project
Click Import in ReX.
Select Export to SimGate Studio.
Your linked project will reopen in Studio, launching the Import Modal set to “Import Individual Pages.”
You’ll see your Studio pages and can select which ones to bring into the flow.
Then once you select import, you will be directed to the Pages view in Studio.
Note: When working with a linked project, you won’t be able to import a different ReX project through the Studio import modal (in that linked project). To import a new ReX project, you must create a new Studio project.
