Updated over 3 weeks ago

Easily create comparative team-level reports by arranging data and visualizations in a structured manner.

Streamline your report-building process and ensure that key insights are communicated effectively.

Why Create Dashboard Facilitator Reports?

Unlock deeper insights and enhance learner outcomes with customizable facilitator reports.

Key Benefits:

  • Valuable Team Insights – Analyze learners’ decision-making, thought processes, and skill mastery through detailed team data.

  • Impactful Debriefs – Use data-driven insights to guide debrief discussions, fostering self-discovery and meaningful learning outcomes.

  • Customizable Reports – Create tailored report pages using the intuitive page builder:

    • Showcase team performance and comparisons.

    • Add text, charts, and visuals to enrich facilitation.

    • Provide learners with clear, visual feedback to support skill growth.

Example Report Configurations:

NOTE: These reports are not templates but created in Studio, by SimGate Authors, and will need to be customized and built out based on the specific course criteria and what data/information facilitators, learners, and/or administrators need.

NOTE: Max # of Rows is 10 - The reporting capabilities for this feature are limited to 10 rows! If you have more than 10 teams or individuals in your sessions, this feature won't be the best option for you.

DIY Steps to Build this type of Report!

Create your new “Page Builder” template

In your “Page Builder” template where you plan to build your Dashboard Facilitator Report

When you start with a blank slate, there is always Title and Subtitle at the top of the screen.

  • In the middle section, you start with one Row as the default and can begin to create your page layout by adding more Rows & Columns

  • Each Row or Column becomes a field in which you can add your custom elements (like text, pictures, videos, inputs or charts)!

Build out your Top Row - This is the row that will repeat!

First, build the row you plan to repeat, by following these steps:

To add a column within that row, click the 3-dot ellipsis and choose Add Column (up to 4 columns)

To add a component to that column within that row, click the + Add item and choose your element.

NOTE: See the tool tip in the edit panel to see the components that are available with this feature!

In the columns, select "Add Item" and add Rich Text, or move to the "Data" tab to choose from Gauges, Rating outputs, Pie Charts, Bar Charts, or Line Graphs to display data for each team or participant.

FYI - You can customize the gauge's name, edit the charts and graphs, variables, and other settings as needed.

💡Tip! Best Practices:

To optimize efficiency, fully develop your initial row before employing the Row Repeat function (below). This guarantees that each duplicated row aligns precisely with your desired layout. Additionally, consider these best practices:

1. Consistency in Design: Maintain a consistent design theme across all rows to enhance visual coherence and user experience.

2. Clear Organization: Use clear labeling and organization techniques to easily identify the elements within your rows, particularly when dealing with complex page layouts.

3. Variable Injector: Insert the Team Name by using the variable injector so each row is easily identifiable.

4. Max # of Rows is 10: Keep in mind that reporting capabilities for this feature are limited to 10 rows! If you will have more than 10 teams or individuals in your sessions, this feature won't be the best option for you.

Add Row Repeat to your Report

Once you have built out your first row to your desired configuration....

  1. Select the row settings.

  2. In the edit panel, set its settings to Repeat mode. (You'll know that it's enabled if the toggle becomes Orange.)

Note: You will also see a toggle for Row dividers. Choose to turn this feature on or off based on your preference.

  3. In the Edit panel on the chart or gauge, make sure the mode is set to User mode.

💡 See the different Modes for Data Visualization!

Session Mode

Use Session Mode on bar charts, line graphs, and pie charts to display data for all users or teams in a session within a single report.

  • Note: These charts can display data for up to 10 users or teams at a time.

User Mode

  • Use User Mode on bar charts, line graphs, and pie charts to display individual user data.

  • This mode is useful within the learning experience to show how well a learner performed on the metrics.

User Mode + Row Repeat

  • Use User Mode + Row Repeat to display individual user or team data in separate rows. This can be built for the dashboard for facilitators to view.

  • The Row Repeat feature can display up to 10 rows of data.

Important Note: Gauges and rating visuals do not support Session Mode because they can only display data for one user at a time.

Finish and Review Changes

Review the changes in real-time or via Preview mode to ensure the report meets your expectations.

If needed, continue to edit the TOP ROW using the edit functions and this will carry through to your rows below.

Click the 'Close' button when you're done.

SimGate Auto Connects Repeated Rows to Participant Data

By engaging the row repeat feature, session data for all teams or participants is automatically pulled into this report (up to 10 teams or participants). You only need to configure the first row of information or outputs and the system will repeat it for each team or participant that is associated with this session.

Make your report accessible through the Dashboard

In the Pages tab, locate the page you created for this report.

Click on the three-dot ellipsis and choose + Add to Dashboard.

Now you will see that the location of your page is listed as a Dashboard Report.

You can confirm this via the Settings page as well under Dashboard Settings:

Your report is now available on the DASHBOARD to all facilitators and administrators who have access to the sessions associated with this course!
