The Regis Page Sample Project is located in PORTAL

within your Enterprise folder.

See something you want to use in your DIY project? Awesome!

➡ HERE'S HOW:

  1. Shared Libraries or Duplication for Reuse: Save the ones you like to your personal or enterprise Shared Library for future use in any project OR duplicate the entire project to use as you'd like! Link

  2. Easy Customization: Add these pre-built pages to your own projects and easily customize them to fit your needs. Link

Step 2: Start your build with a Pre-Built Template

It’s time to start creating your learning experience! In Part 1, you decided which pre-built flow template to use as your starting point to accelerate your prototype creation. The Starter Flow Template will be the foundation upon which you will build your project.

Log in:

  • In a Chrome or Edge browser, use your Login and PW to access SimGate PORTAL via your unique enterprise URL.

    • Once logged in, follow the below steps to duplicate the Starter Flow Template project that you will use to build your prototype.

Duplicate your chosen Starter flow:

  1. In Portal, Navigate to your project Enterprise Projects Folder

    1. If you are on the home page, choose the All Projects button on your home page

  2. Open the folder named: SIM FLOW SAMPLE TEMPLATES

  3. Based on your planning in Part 1, duplicate the Starter Flow Template that aligns with your project aspirations.

  4. Duplicate the project into your personal “My Projects” folder

⚠️ Friendly Warning! Please DO NOT skip this duplication step and use the original Starter Flow project in your enterprise Onboarding folder to complete this module! That is the master copy that all onboarding participants need to use. If you make any changes to it, it will change the master version and could impact your colleagues's ability to successfully complete the module.

5. Rename it. To avoid confusion, always rename duplicated projects immediately!

6. Open your project in Studio.

Your Project is now ready to be customized!

👀 NOTICE: The pages and activities in these sim flows have built-in prompts to support your design efforts but are intentionally left blank of content so that you can customize them as you see fit!

Did you choose to start with ReX Beta and want to export pages and activities to Studio?

If you decide to use ReX Beta as your starting point for prototype creation, here's an overview of the steps you'll need to follow before moving on to Step 3 in SimGate Studio!

1. Complete ReX PreRequisites Inputs

  • In Module 2, you experimented with ReX to collaborate and generate an in-depth topical summary covering your learner, objectives, topics, and storyline.

  • For your DIY project, you can use the same project you started in Module 2 or choose a new topic and target learner!

  • Complete all Pre-Requisites

    1. Initial inputs

    2. Then, use the Starter wire flow templates (based on learning type) to mirror your structure!

2. Complete Learning Experience Inputs

  • Choose your pages and activity types. In Module 3 and Module 4 you learned about Studio and the various types of pages and activity templates you can use to build your wireflow.

  • In this section, you'll choose which page and template types you want ReX to create for your wireflow

    • the number of activities and pages is up to you but should be made of these key elements outlined in these modules.

  • Follow the same cadence as the prerequisites to complete the prompts, and generate your project's content.

3. Validate and refine Rex's outputs.

4. Finalize any edits in ReX

  • Make sure all of your Simulation Pages are fully generated or they won't be included when you export to Studio.

5. Export your Pages and Activities to Studio

    1. Follow these steps to quickly export your newly created activities and content with just a few clicks.

    2. Don't forget to always use a newly created project in SimGate Studio! ReX export will override any existing states/pages.

Next - it's time to customize your project in SimGate Studio and make it your own! Move on to Step 3 below where you'll get guidance on tailoring your project in Studio.

Click the arrow to expande the section for additional guidance!

Step 3: Customize the key "building blocks" of your project!

In SimGate Studio, customize your project by editing activities, adding content, swapping around pages or templates, adding rounds, stylizing your theme, including avatars or videos, trying out the scoring model, and experimenting with feedback and branching!

Open your project in Studio and start your customizations -

the sky is the limit!!

  • 📋 If you used a starter template, you can follow the prompts within each page of the Starter Flow to help you:

    • start from a fully built, fit-for-purpose wireflow

    • create content aligned to the page or activity type

    • custom build activities with realistic challenges

    • personalize the experience with add-ons or avatars

    • go beyond the set-up structure to tailor your experience

  • 🤖 If you used ReX, you'll have a lot of content to work with and can focus on the tool capabilities to:

    • level up engagement

    • personalize the experience

    • provide dynamic feedback

    • explore branching opportunities

    • practice custom building activities

  • 📚 If you want to use pages from the Regis Page Sample Project, you can use this in combination with either approach to:

    • quickly create polished pages

    • add your unique touch to the layout or content

    • focus on advanced features like branching, scoring, or AI integrations

Final step: Sharing your Project + Evaluation Meeting

Why do I have to share my project prototype?

  • We ask you to share it with us to see and celebrate what you've created, begin to understand your vision, learning objectives, supporting storyline/content/activities, and how you implemented features to support those learning goals SO THAT we can support you in accomplishing YOUR goals with SimGate and design.

How do I share my project prototype with Regis and Peers?

  1. To share with Regis: Generate a "Reviewer Link" - you may recall using this feature in Module 4!

  2. Email your link to s[email protected] before the final session so that we can review.

  3. Finish these sentences in the body of your email:

    • One thing that worked really well when creating my prototype was....

    • One thing that was really challenging when creating my prototype was....

    • I estimate (guesstimate!!) that it took me approximately _____ hours to complete my Module 5 project prototype.

🌟 BONUS: Sharing with a Peer(s) is optional, but we highly encourage it! So much personal learning and a deeper understanding result from feedback :)

💡 TIP Check out this post to see all the different ways you can share your SimGate projects throughout various design phases: How To: Sharing Your Project
